All 1085 episodes of the One Piece anime are coming to the BBC before the end of 2024.
The BBC have announced that it’s acquired the rights to over 1000 episodes of the legendary anime series One Piece. It’s the first time the dubbed versions of the series have been available in the UK
The show, popularised by its recent Netflix live-action adaptation, has 10 sagas in its back catalogue stretching out over 1085 instalments.
The series, produced by Toei Animation, based on Eiichiro Oda’s manga series of the same name, has been on air since 1999.
The show is an adventure story that follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his crew – the Straw Hat Crew – as he explores the Grand Line in search of the mythical treasure known as the “One Piece” in order to become the next King of the Pirates.
BBC iPlayer, in partnership with BBC Three, will release all 10 Sagas between September and December. The first three sagas, East Blue, Alabasta and Skypiea, are available now.
The remaining seven One Piece sagas will roll out onto BBC iPlayer by the end of the year.
