First look images have been revealed for Channel 4 hit Patience series 2
We’ve yet to have them officially on the Channel 4 press site (not uncommon), but a few sources (including TV Zone) have some pictures from the upcoming Patience series 2. It’s a chance to also remind fans of the changes they can expect.
What’s new in Patience series 2, and what else can we expect
First up we can expect a rise in episode count with eight episodes this time. Patience herself (Ella Maisy Purvis) will continue her work in the police criminal records department of City of York Police after establishing herself as an invaluable member of the team, bringing her unique insight into a series of perplexing cases. But. There’s a change. Jessica Hynes (Spaced, There She Goes, W1A, Miss Austen) joins as DI Frankie Monroe who brings a different dynamic to the station and a new boss for Patience and the team. The picture above shows Hynes and Purvis).

New boss, Detective Frankie Monroe has a very different management style, it proves tricky for them both to navigate. Love is also in the air in this series as Patience begins a relationship with a work colleague Elliot and the police department gets a makeover with the arrival of a new PR consultant. The full cast includes Nathan Welsh (Trying, Am I Being Unreasonable?) as DS Jake Hunter, Mark Benton (Smoggie Queens, Shakespeare and Hathaway) as Calvin Baxter, Adrian Rawlins (Chernobyl, Living) as Douglas Gilmore, Ali Ariaie (The Great) as DC Will Akbari, Connor Curren (Dodger, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time) as Billy Thompson, Liza Sadovy (A Real Pain, The Rumour) as Dr. Loretta Parsons and Tom Lewis (Gentleman Jack, Redeeming Love) as Elliot Scott.
We understand filming is yet to complete and expect series 2 sometime in 2026.
