Peaky Blinders returns — not one new series, but two!

Peaky Blinders returns with a bang to the BBC and Netflix, telling the story of a new generation of Shelbys, from writer and creator Steven Knight. The two new series, produced by Kudos (SAS Rogue Heroes, House of Guinness, Grantchester) and Garrison Drama (Peaky Blinders series 1-6, the Peaky Blinders film) for BBC iPlayer and BBC One, will be filmed at Digbeth Loc. Studios in Birmingham, and will be set in the city.

What stories will the new series tell?

From the press release, we learn:

Britain, 1953. After being heavily bombed in WWII, Birmingham is building a better future out of concrete and steel. In a new era of Steven Knight’s Peaky Blinders, the race to own Birmingham’s massive reconstruction project becomes a brutal contest of mythical dimensions. This is a city of unprecedented opportunity and danger: with the Shelby family right at its blood-soaked heart.

Cillian Murphy is on board as an Executive Producer. Nothing has been said about a possible return for Tommy Shelby. Yet.
