Ben Miller is back in Professor T series 3 starting at 9 pm on ITV — we bring you all the information you need

Good news for fans of Professor T as series 3 starts on ITV tonight (27 March), and following the end of series 2, our hero begins this series behind bars! No need to worry if this is the and as series 4 has already been commissioned (thanks to the Radio Times). This speaks volumes for the show.

So what’s happening in Professor T series 3?

At the end of series 2, Jasper (Miller) tried to save the career of Christina Brand (Juliet Aubrey), and it’s up to his mother Adelaide (Frances de la Tour) and therapist Dr Helena (Juliet Stevenson) to persuade her to tell the truth rather than sacrifice him. With all this going on, how will Jasper cope inside a prison, given his various mental quirks including obsessive cleanliness? How will he respond when a murder takes place?

As the Radio Times tells us, scenes were actually filmed inside a prison, and the link also includes a short clip.

Prison aside, Jasper’s continuing therapy will bring suppressed memories of his father’s death back to the surface, so expect a lot of dramatic revelations about his mother. The rest of the cast are returning, with DS Lisa Donckers (Emma Naomi, recently seen in Ralf Little’s departure from Death in Paradise) newly promoted and her relationship with DS Dan Winter (Barney White) back on track… but for how long?!
