The popular series taking place in Scotland is back and the cast list is out, here’s what we know so far about Rebus 2:

Filming is underway in Edinburgh  and Glasgow for the BBC detective series, with new details released to give us a hint of what to expect ahead of the series release next year.

What’s  Rebus 2 about?

After the first series, the second throws us right back into the complexities and dramas of our protagonist’s world. If exploring the crime scene in Scotland wan’t enough, he also has to toil over untangling the difficulties of his personal life. He continues to dig into the murky background behind the current criminal activity, finding a thread leading all the way to the world of finance, packed with enough money and power to make people like him disappear should they go looking where they’re not welcome.

Who’s in it?

The currently released list of cast members includes Richard Rankin (Outlander), John Michie (Karen Pirie), Stephen McCole (Shetland), Emily Barber (The Wayfinders), Lorne MacFadyen (Starstruck), Conor Berry (Vigil), Ivan Ivashkin (The Capture), Olga Safronova (The Fatigued), Douglas Russell (Adolescence), Alexis Rodney (Death In Paradise), Reece Montague (The Primrose Railway Children), Joshua Haynes (Crime), Brian Ferguson (Beats), Lucie Shorthouse (We Are Lady Parts), Amy Manson (Estranged), Neshla Caplan (The Rig), Stuart Bowman (Guilt), Noof Ousellam (Vera), Thoren Ferguson (Blue Christmas), Mia McKenzie (Earth is Never Dry), Andrew John Tait (My Son) and Cassidy Little (One More Shot).

When’s it out?

Although there’s no specific date, the second series is due to come out in 2027.
