Giving a more upbeat and humorous perspective on the world of support work, here’s what we know so far about Rewarding: 

The latest news from the BBC about the development of the brand new series has dropped information about who we can expect to see as well as giving hints about the story we can expect to watch unfold.

What’s Rewarding about?

Taking place in the heart of domiciliary care, the series will follow stories showing the chaos and heart of caring for disabled and neurodivergent clients. Focussing on an optimistic newcomer and a slightly more jaded working with a few more years under their belt, the pair have to put their differences aside to engage in the metaphorical (hopefully) firefighting that happens every day in social care. The series is written by Matthew McDevitt, based on his own experiences working in this field. Paddy Campbell (Bodkin) and Faebian Averies (Bergerac) will also write the series.

Who’s in it?

Comedian Vittorio Angelone will be starring alongside Hannah McClean (Blue Lights), Bernadette Brown (Say Nothing), Joanne Crawford (Blue Lights), Faolan Morgan (Art Detectives), Lee Snodgrass, Faith Alabi (Industry) and John Moffat.
