The latest audio series of Robin Of Sherwood has scored quite a coup, with the news that Michael Praed is returning to reprise his role as Robin.
Praed was the original Robin in the TV series, but he quit the role after two series, to instead head to America and try and crack Broadway. In his place came Jason Connery, who subsequently played the part, and made a success of it in his own right.
Connery has returned to voice Robin again in an audio production from Barnaby Eaton-Jones and Spiteful Puppet/ITV last year. And now comes the news that Praed has been lured back for the first time, too. He’ll be recording four full audio adventures for release in 2018. But ahead of that, a special treat: a Christmas special has been recorded and released, and it’s available now.
The production goes by the name of Sanctuary, and has been penned by Paul Birch. The synopsis for it reads:
Two enemies find themselves trapped together in an abandoned church on the far edge of Sherwood. Robin of Loxley and the Sheriff of Nottingham are both wounded, and without weapons, in the care of a hedge-priest.
