Amazon’s Wheel Of Time TV series, based on Robert Jordan’s fantasy novels, has cast Rosamund Pike in a major role. Here’s everything you need to know…
The British actress – who’s known for her roles in Gone Girl, Die Another Day and countless other high-profile productions – will star in the series, taking on the lead role of Moiraine. The news was announced with this official Tweet from the show’s writer’s room…

Rafe Judkins is showrunning the series, building on his producing work in Hemlock and Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD. Amazon is probably hoping that this fantasy book series adaptation will step in nicely to fill the Game Of Thrones-shaped whole in viewers’ lives.
Firstly, the show will need to adapt The Eye Of The World, the first book in Jordan’s series, which was originally published in 1984. GoodReads has this blurb for the book: “The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth returns again. In the Third Age, an Age of Prophecy, the World and Time themselves hang in the balance. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow.”
Yep, sounds like high-concept fantasy to us. We’ll keep you updated as we hear more about the Wheel Of Time TV series.
