The fifth season adapts Mick Herron’s novel London Rules.
Apple TV+ have revealed a first look at the upcoming Slow Horses season 5.
The series will be with us on Wednesday, 24th September 2025 for a double-episode premiere. Four weekly episodes then follow to round out the six-part run.

Here’s the synopsis…
In season five of “Slow Horses,” everyone is suspicious when resident tech nerd Roddy Ho has a glamorous new girlfriend. When a series of increasingly bizarre events occur across the city, it falls to the Slow Horses to work out how everything is connected. After all, Lamb knows that in the world of espionage, the London Rules — cover your back — always apply.
Joining Gary Oldman’s Jackson Lamb, the Slow Horses season 5 cast includes Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Ruth Bradley, James Callis, Tom Brooke and Jonathan Pryce. Plus, Nick Mohammed joins the show as a special guest star.
The series comes from See-Saw Films, with Mick Herron’s books adapted for television by Will Smith.
Slow Horses Season 6
Apple TV+ announced the show’s sixth season back in October 2024. Lenny Rush is set to join the cast, along with Hugo Weaving returning as Frank Harkness.
Beyond that, showrunner Will Smith has talked about adapting all eight, soon to be nine, of Mick Herron’s novels, so the Slow Horses should be with us for a while yet. We’ll keep you posted.
