TBS has lifted the lid on its Snowpiercer TV series, by sharing the first trailer at San Diego Comic Con. You can watch it right here…
The Snowpiercer TV show, like the film of the same name from 2013, is based on based on the graphic novel Le Transperceneige by Jacques Lob, Benjamin Legrand and Jean-Marc Rochette.
Oscar-winner Jennifer Connelly and Tony-winner Daveed Diggs will star in this new take, which had something of a troubled production. Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson did direct the initial pilot episode, but he left the production before reshoots could take place. Derrickson made this decision after the show’s original creator, Josh Friedman of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, departed the project over creative differences with TBS.
TBS pushed ahead and finished the series, as proven by this newly released trailer…
If you’re looking for some more story details, the official description of the show from TBS reads thusly: “Set more than seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, Snowpiercer centers on the remnants of humanity, who inhabit a gigantic, perpetually-moving train that circles the globe. Class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival play out in this riveting television adaptation.”
TBS states that Snowpiercer will debut in the US in spring 2020. The UK release will be handled by Netflix.
