It’s time to play Squid Game one last time.
Updated 20/06/25: Final trailer
With the third and final season of Squid Game just a week away, we realised we’d failed to bring you the show’s “Final Trailer” which dropped last week.
We know that seasons 2 and 3 of the show were shot back-to-back from July 2023 to June 2024, to the revelations the show holds have been in waiting for some time.
If you want more, there are photos and a cast breakdown on the Netflix Tudum site.
Spinoff Potential
While this is the final of the main show, at the season 2 premiere, creator Hwang Dong-hyuk talked to The Hollywood Reporter about a possible spinoff, saying:
“When we were doing season one, I was saying there was never going to be another season. And so if the time comes, and it just so happens that I’m able to come up with a character or a different story, then maybe there might be a comeback. But I’m thinking more along the lines of a spinoff.”
“There’s a three-year gap. So, for example, what was the Front Man doing during those three years? What was the Recruiter doing? When I have some downtime, I like to just toss some ideas around and go wild with my imagination. So I guess we can be open to anything.”
Squid Game season 3 lands at Netflix on June 27th, 2025.
