Stranger Things 5 – release dates announced

It’s the final season, with Stranger Things 5 dropping on three dates.

Over the weekend, as part of Netflix’s Tudum 2025 – The Live Event, the streamer broke down how it plans to deliver the final chapter of Stranger Things.

It’s been a whopping long gap since the last two episode of season 4 dropped, back in July 2022. Now, we know that the series returns for its fifth and final season on November 26th, 2o25.

So, in the US, that’s Volume 1 (4 episodes) on November 26th, Volume 2 (3 episodes) at Christmas and the series finale on New Year’s Eve.

Viewers in the UK can add a day on to all those dates, with episodes dropping at 1am local time. For timings in other regions, Tudum has a country by country breakdown.

To be fair, the show has been a massive success for Netflix since its debut in 2016, and you can understand them making the most if it.

Here’s the synopsis for the final season:

“The fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time.”
