We’ve first-look images of the Star Trek: Prodigy villains as well as the title sequence, all thanks to Paramount+
As the first Star Trek title aimed at younger viewers draws ever closer, we can now see the Prodigy villains for the first time, and the opening title sequence.
The Prodigy villains revealed
Welcome to Drednok (voiced by Jimmi Simpson) and The Diviner (voiced by John Noble) [see picture above]. We can bring you more from the official Star Trek website.
Who is Drednok?
He’s the Diviner’s deadly robotic enforcer is heartless and cold. His sole purpose is to keep The Diviner on task and ensure that the Protostar* is found. Drednok is a friend to no one, including The Diviner’s own daughter Gwyn and uses his menacing spider-like form to impose The Diviner’s will.
So who is The Divener?
A ruthless tyrant who controls the asteroid of Tars Lamora, The Diviner exploits wayward species and will stop at nothing in his hunt for the Protostar ship, no matter the cost. Though his goals are shrouded in mystery, his body is failing him and he created his progeny, Gwyn, to one day carry on his mission when she is ready for it.
Hold on, what’s the Protostar?
Well, that’s the Federation starship our young prodigious Star Fleet trainees are on as shown in…
The Star Trek Prodigy opening sequence
It’s a rather beautiful sequence of the Protostar flying around something strange we begin realise is building into a vast hologram of… Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) who is the mentor to the group of aliens onboard the Protostar. As she is revealed the ship executes on last balletic manoeuvre before heading off into the deeps of galactic space.
You can read more about the title sequence and villains in the official news piece. We had some trouble getting the video to play in the UK, and had to hunt around before finding this link on the official @StarTrekonPPlus Twitter feed:
