Australian sitcom The Moodys will begin airing in the UK next month.
The eight-part comedy series launches at 9.30pm on Thursday 1 May on Sky Living.
They might not get along like the Waltons or the Brady Bunch, but they have a lot more fun, with each episode focusing on uniquely Moody occasions over the course of a year, from a wedding anniversary to a surprise 40th birthday party and even a court appearance.
Series 1 begins as Dan (Ian Meadows) returns to Oz with girlfriend Cora (Jane Harber) – who he stole off his cousin last Christmas – after a stint living in London. Settling back in won’t be easy, though, what with parents Maree (Tina Bursill) and Kevin (Danny Adcock) deciding to sell the family home, incurring the wrath of their other son Sean (Patrick Brammall) in the process. A party is what the brood needs to bond, and what better time to welcome Dan home than on Australia Day? Hapless Uncle Terry (Darren Gilshenan) fires up the barbie, but his gesture is doomed before the first shrimp hits the grill.
