The documentary telling the story of the film and television pioneer premieres in April.
Last November, we reported on Gerry Anderson: A Life Uncharted, announced as an original BritBox documentary. Now the trailer has arrived to give us a first taste.
A Life Uncharted will use over thirty hours of previously unpublished interviews to share the untold stories of the film and television pioneer. Directed by Benjamin Field, the film looks at what drove the prolific producer of eighteen series and four feature films.
Across his career, Gerry Anderson created popular puppetry hits such as Thunderbirds, Stingray, Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons and Terrahawks. Live action hits included shows like UFO and Space:1999 and Space Precinct. Many of these shows continue to have active fanbases to this day.
Speaking about the film, Gerry’s younger son, and director of Anderson Entertainment, Jamie Anderson said:
“The process of making this documentary has been an amazing journey for me. I’ve got to know Dad in ways that I never managed during his lifetime. The things I’ve learned make his achievements all the more incredible, but also make so many of the characters and shows he created even more meaningful. It’s a difficult story, but one that needs to be told – and that will fascinate fans of his shows”
Gerry Anderson: A Life Uncharted lands on BritBox on the 14th of April.
BFI special preview screening
