Channel 4 has confirmed that the new season of No Offence will begin in January.
Joanna Scanlan (DI Vivienne Deering), Elaine Cassidy (DC Dinah Kowalska) and Alexandra Roach (DS Joy Freers) will be back for seven new 60-minute episodes on Channel 4.
They’ll be joined in Season 2 by Him & Her star Sarah Solemani as hyper aspirational new boss, Detective Superintendent Christine Lickberg, and Conor MacNeill (The Fall) as office manager Gavin.
Shameless creator Paul Abbott’s police procedural drama launched on Channel 4 in May 2015 and attracted an average of 2.5 million viewers.

The second season’s opening episode will see Deering thrust head to head against a ferocious and unpredictable matriarch, Nora Attah (Rakie Ayola – Holby City, Dredd) and her volatile son Manni (Zachary Momoh – To Kill A Mockingbird), one of Manchester’s most feared crime families – The Attahs.
Viv is determined to broker peace but firebombs rain down thrusting the city back to the dark days of its “Gunchester” past. Viv and the Friday Street squad go all out to bring those responsible to justice and the battle for the streets of Manchester begins…
Writer Paul Abbott previously commented: “No Offence is a joy to come back to. The world seems a much safer place set against the organised chaos of inspector Viv Deering’s world. With the limited resources at her disposal in a community shredded by gang crime, Viv’s mantra for her staff: ‘The least you can do for me is your very best.’ And they will.
He added: “[Season 2] will build on the celebration of teamwork in the British workplace. Against all odds and underfunding, Deering steers her humble team to high achievements.”
