We’re soon to get the final series ever of Still Game, it’s been announced, with the news that the upcoming series of the show will be its last.
It marks the end of a 21 year journey for the show, that started at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. More recently, the gang – led by Ford Kiernan and Greg Hemphill – have revived their TV show too, bringing the comedy to BBC One.
However, the story of Jack and Victor will be coming to end now, with filming of the final series set to take place in Scotland, commencing next month.
In the words of BBC comedy controller Shane Allen, “Ford and Greg have achieved that rare beauty of making a modern classic sitcom that has made millions laugh and will be enjoyed for decades to come. This new series is another riot of rich character-based comedy and sees all our old pals from Craiglang off in style”.
The final six episodes will screen before the end of the year.
