Netflix’s Stranger Things has a healthy future ahead of it, with season three already ordered, even if it’s unlikely to be on our screens this year. Filming is set to start in a few months, according to rumours, once again under the stewardship of the Duffer brothers. And director and producer Shawn Levy is on board again too.
In a new interview with Glamour, Levy has been chatting about the direction of season three, which is now very deep into its planning stages.
“It’ll be an eight or nine-episode season”, Levy revealed.
“The number of episodes will be dictated by the amount of story that excites us. We now know what is going to happen in season three to every character. We’re going to give Will a break. We’re not going to put Will through hell for a third season in a row. He’ll be dealing with stuff, but he won’t be at rock bottom the way we forced the amazing Noah Schnapp to play”.
Levy also teased that Steve and Dustin will be teaming up again for the new season.
Stranger Things season 3 is expected to land on Netflix in early 2019.
