Thanks to AUK Studios, the classic puppet series Tales of Aesop is about to get the Blu-Ray treatment. 

Originally transmitted on the BBC in 1990, the 13-part retelling of Aesop’s fables featured the distinctive voice of Tom Baker on narration duties.

Now, he returns to the series to record a new introduction and take part in a retrospective look at the programme.

Created in a gentler era, ‘Tales of Aesop’ features retellings of classic stories told with simple hand puppets with solid wooden heads. Children are introduced to Hubert Hare, Cedric Tortoise, Ferdy Fox, Becky Bird and a colourful cast of animals, all of whom bring these tales to life in a fun and accessible way.
