Intrigue, instinct and some fabulous hairdos await in the upcoming quirky crime drama series. The latest news released around the production has revealed some plot details and some stunning first look images.

What’s The Hairdresser Mysteries about?

With an aesthetic inspired by 70’s glamour, the series follows the story of a hairdresser who decided to give up the rat race in the city and set up shop in the heart of a village community. She soon gains a sharp-minded assistant and the pair find themselves embroiled in the goings-on in the rural environment. They’re never short of leads as the salon chair is the perfect place for secrets to come to light.

The cast list for the show includes Sally Phillips (Miranda), Charlotte Jordan (Coronation Street), Ben Castle-Gibb (You), Sunetra Sarker (Ackley Bridge), Clive Rowe (The Addams Family UK Tour), Guy Henry (Holby City) and Wendi Peters (Doctors).

Who’s behind it?

The show was created by Jim Cartwright (Road), who has written alongside Mark Catley (My Mad Fat Diary) and David Semple (Father Brown). Paul Gibson (Midsomer Murders), Jermain Julien (Death in Paradise) and Tracey Larcombe (Catch Me A Killer) are directing.
