This September, the iconic, groundbreaking TV show The Prisoner – the original version, not the recent ‘remake’! – arrives at its 50th birthday. The show, created by and starring Patrick McGoohan, only ran for one series, but its influence is still writ large on a lot of modern sci-fi. It seems appropriate that it’s going to have a special birthday party.
A new documentary, In My Mind, has been prepared to salute The Prisoner’s birthday, from filmmaker Chris Rodley. And it’s set to get its world premiere at a special event in September, that’ll also act as the launch for a new DVD and Blu-ray release of the show.
The new disc set, from Network, will feature all 17 episodes of the show with new text commentaries, fresh special features, and the aforementioned documentary. A deluxe version will also be on sale, with even more goodies.
Tickets are now on sale, then, for Fall In: The Prisoner at 50, the name of the one day event that’s appropriately being held in Portmeirion on 29th September 2017. Tickets cost £135 for the full day, and you can buy them, and get full details of the event itself, here. http://networkonair.com/all-products/2706-fall-in-the-prisoner-at-fifty-event
