Amazon Prime has dropped the official trailer for sci-fi film The Tomorrow War

Coming on July 2, The Tomorrow War may have just found a less used time travel trope to build a film around. Here’s their synopsis:

Chris Pratt is Dan Forester, a teacher who is drafted into a war that takes place in the future. In order to save the future, he’ll need to confront his past…

The cast includes: Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy), JK Simmons (Invincible) and Yvonne Strahovski (Stateless, The Handmaid’s Tale)The film is directed by Chris McKay (Lego Batman Movie) and written by Zach Dean.

If you pop across to Amazon itself, the Prime entry has a lot more to tell us:

Time travelers arrive from 2051 to deliver an urgent message: 30 years in the future mankind is losing a war against a deadly alien species. The only hope for survival is for soldiers and civilians to be transported to the future and join the fight. Determined to save the world for his daughter, Dan Forester teams up with a brilliant scientist and his estranged father to rewrite the planet’s fate…

Curiously, the film is filed under science fiction, drama, adventure, action … and comedy!

You can judge for yourself by watching the trailer now, and then (perhaps) add it to your watchlist on Prime.
