The Undoing: Donald Sutherland boards Nicole Kidman drama

Posted Filed under

Oscar and Emmy winner Donald Sutherland has joined Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant in upcoming HBO limited series, The Undoing

The Undoing follows “Grace Sachs (played by Kidman), who is living the only life she ever wanted for herself. She’s a successful therapist on the brink of publishing her first book, has a devoted husband (played by Grant) and young son who attends an elite private school in New York City.”

“Weeks before her book is published, a chasm opens in her life: a violent death, a missing husband, and, in the place of a man Grace thought she knew, only a chain of terrible revelations. Left behind in the wake of a spreading and very public disaster, and horrified by the ways in which she has failed to heed her own advice, Grace must dismantle one life and create another for her child and herself.”

Sutherland will play Kidman’s father in the series.

It’s Sutherland’s second major TV commitment in recent years, having recently come off FX’s Trust where he played J. Paul Getty. Additionally, it’ll reunite Kidman and Big Little Lies showrunner David E. Kelley who will pen the series with The Night Manager director Susanne Bier shooting it.

We’ll pass on an air date when we’ve got one.
