Out of the blue the BBC has released a trailer for Top Gear series 30…
You have to admire the BBC’s brevity — the trailer synopsis simply reads: The team push their cars and themselves to the limits in the world’s biggest motoring show. We do note the show has retained its BBC 1 status. Fortunately there’s a lot more on the official Top Gear website.
The new series of Top Gear TV is nearly here, and with it comes yet another rational dose of sensible consumer advice and real-world road tests delivered by your hosts, Paddy McGuinness, Freddie Flintoff and Chris Harris.
Which includes a titanium-shoed Flintoff being dragged down a Scottish runway by The Stig in an Ariel Nomad, and a race between an Extreme E motor and a man with a jetpack.
Elsewhere, the trio live out their own 007 adventure by driving an Aston Martin DB5 and more excellently, the Renault 11 last seen going under a barrier in A View To A Kill.
If that’s not enough, there’s also:
…the usual roster of sensible road tests too – stuff like the hybrid, V12-engined Lamborghini Siån, the V8-powered Ferrari Roma, and Toyota’s unburstable GR Yaris hot hatch.
Also appearing in the series: a trip down memory lane in their dads’ cars, and jet skis!
If you need something to tide you over until Top Gear series 30, you can still catch series 24-29 on iPlayer. That’s 46 episodes of constrained chaos loosely disguised as a motoring magazine show — we can’t wait for the next series to arrive! Meantime catch the trailer.
