Toxic Town – trailer for the Netflix’s Corby Poisoning drama

The series stars Jodie Whittaker, Aimee Lou Wood and Robert Carlyle. 

Ahead of its late February release, Netflix have dropped a trailer for Toxic Town.

The limited series, from writer Jack Thorne, explores the real-life story of the Corby poisonings in the late 80s and early 90s. The effects were felt by families whose children developed birth defects due to negligence in the reclamation of a steelworks.

One of the UK’s biggest environmental scandals, the series focusses on three mothers who take on a David and Goliath fight for justice and has been called “the British Erin Brockovich.”

The series stars Jodie Whittaker, Aimee Lou Wood, Claudia Jessie, with Robert Carlyle, Joe Dempsie, Brendan Coyle and Rory Kinnear. Also in the cast are Ben Batt, Stephen McMillan, Lauren Lyle, Michael Socha, Karla Crome, Matthew Durkan, Kobi Sadler and Toby Eden.

Toxic Town comes from producers Broke and Bones (Black Mirror), with Annabel Jones and Charlie Brooker executive producing. The series director is Minkie Spiro and the producer is Delyth Scudamore.
