The first trailer for the new American version of Broadchurch has been unveiled.

Starring David Tennant (Doctor Who) as “a character similar to his role in the original”, but with an American accent, Gracepoint was filmed in British Columbia, Canada.

The original series’ character of Ellie Miller will be played by Breaking Bad star Anna Gunn, while other cast members include Nick Nolte, Jacki Weaver, Michael Pena, Kevin Rankin, Virginia Kull and Kevin Zegers.

Gracepoint will air in the US this autumn. A UK broadcaster has not yet been announced.

Broadchurch creator Chris Chibnall is executive producing the remake and is also writing the first episode.
