Disney+ have revealed that I Am Groot is returning for a second run. The diminutive hero, an adorable Flora Colossus sapling, enjoyed his first run of mischievous mini-adventures in August 2022 and they continue this September.
Here’s the official word from Disney+:
The troublemaking twig returns to mischief in the second season of “I Am Groot.” This time, Baby Groot finds himself exploring the universe and beyond aboard the Guardians’ spaceships, coming face-to-face—or nose-to-nose—with new and colourful creatures and environments.
The trailer continues the blend of sweetness and anarchy, with Groot making a new feathered friend and being distracted by shiny amusements.
The series comes from writer/director Kristen Lapore, with star Vin Diesel returning to voice Groot. The supervising producer is Danielle Costa; producers are Craig Rittenbaum and Alex Scharf; executive producers are Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso and Kirsten Lepore. Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt is co-executive producer.
Marvel Studios’ I Am Groot Season 2, containing five new shorts, lands at Disney+ on Wednesday, 6th September 2023.
