The first teaser trailer has arrived for Amazon Prime’s Picnic At Hanging Rock miniseries, which stars Game Of Thrones alum Natalie Dormer.
Based on Joan Lindsay’s novel of the same name, Picnic At Hanging Rock deals with the disappearance of three schoolgirls and their governess. Dormer plays the headmistresses of Appleyard College, the educational establishment that gets caught up in this scandalous mystery. Lindsay’s book already inspired a fantastic film: Peter Weir’s 1975 flick, which is also called Picnic At Hanging Rock.
Without further ado, here’s the first Picnic At Hanging Rock teaser trailer pertaining to Amazon’s version…
Three episodes of this glossy-looking six-part adaptation were directed by Larysa Kondracki, who has previously shot episodes on such famous series as Legion and Better Call Saul. The other three Picnic At Hanging Rock episodes were directed by Michael Rymer (Jessica Jones, Hannibal) and Amanda Brotchie (Girlboss, Squinters). Writing duties on the series were shared by Beatrix Christian (White Collar Blue) and Alice Addison (Devil’s Playground).
It’s hard to tell what the Picnic At Hanging Rock series will be like from this short teaser alone, but it does look intriguing and stylishly made.
All six episodes of Picnic At Hanging Rock will arrive on Amazon on May 25th.
