ITV has released the first trailer for the new season of Unforgotten.
Nicola Walker and Sanjeev Bhaskar will return in a brand new six-part story from creator and writer Chris Lang, once again exploring the fallout from the investigation into an historic murder case.
The crime drama launched on ITV last October and the first season has now been sold into 126 territories worldwide.

Joining Nicola Walker and Sanjeev Bhaskar in Season 2 are Mark Bonnar (Catastrophe), Rosie Cavaliero (Prey), Lorraine Ashbourne (New Tricks), Badria Timimi (Killing Jesus), Charlie Condou (Casualty), Holly Aird (Identity), Nigel Lindsay (Poirot), Peter Egan (Downton Abbey), Will Brown (Bystander), Wendy Craig (Doctors) and Bryony Hannah (Call the Midwife).
The official synopsis reads: “Season 2 starts with the discovery of body found in a sealed suitcase in the silt of the River Lea. With the body preserved but clearly having been there a number of years, detectives DCI Cassie Stuart and DS Sunny Khan begin the complicated task of identifying the victim and investigating his murder.
“Through their inquiries, the body is revealed as middle-aged man David Walker who disappeared in 1990 leaving behind a wife and young son who is now in his early 30s. With four seemingly un-connected suspects emerging, the team are tasked with finding out who wanted David Walker dead and why?”
Writer Chris Lang commented earlier this year: “I am so excited to be making a second season of Unforgotten. Once again we have managed to assemble a jaw dropping cast, alongside a hugely talented production team, and I cannot wait to see the stories I have created, start to come to life on screen.”
Executive producer Sally Haynes added: “We were delighted at the response to Unforgotten and it’s fantastic to be bringing back Cassie and Sunny to investigate a different historical murder. As with the first series Chris has written a complex, emotional and surprising story that challenges our heroes as they uncover long hidden secrets in the lives of the suspects”.
