Uncanny: Post Mortem – BBC announces new ‘visualised podcast’

Posted Filed under

The Uncanny: Post Mortem podcast airs on BBC Two immediately after the TV episode.

The inexorable blending media continues as podcasts spawn television programmes and broadcasts become podcasts. BBC News offers a good example of this – its Newscast podcast is now filmed daily for YouTube. That’s in addition to the weekly in-vision episode following Question Time on BBC One each Thursday.

Another example is Uncanny: Post Mortem. Positioned as an after show for the Danny Robins’ fronted spooky investigation series, the freshly announced ‘visualised podcast’ will air immediately after each week’s TV episode. This adds up to 90 minutes of Uncanny on a Friday night.

Uncanny: Post Mortem follows in the footsteps of Traitors: Uncloaked, which offers listeners exclusive behind the scenes access to Beeb’s current reality TV/gameshow behemoth.

Danny Robins says:

“Our Uncanny cases are so intriguing and frankly bloody frightening that after watching an episode you always want to discuss it – chatting over theories on what happened and that biggest of all questions “do ghosts exist?” So now, brilliantly, we can do that in Uncanny: Post Mortem, directly after the main show. It’s the kind of delicious deep dive you will be desperate to do after getting hooked on each of these strange chilling cases. You’ll hear more from me, our experts, witnesses and some brilliant celebrity Uncanny fans. Expect new evidence and new leads! I can’t wait!”

Uncanny: Post Mortem is a Bafflegab, Uncanny Media and CC Lab production for BBC Two and BBC Sounds.

Launching on January 31st, 2025, it airs on BBC Two and iPlayer each Friday after the main show.

Additionally, an extended version of the podcast will be available on BBC Sounds, alongside the Uncanny back catalogue.
