The television show Veronica Mars, starring Kirsten Bell, was popular enough in the 2000s to earn three seasons, before having the plug pulled on it. Notably, though, a wildly-popular crowdfunding campaign resulted in a movie happening, and that seemed to pave the way for further adventures.
Three years on, there’s been little sign of a follow-up movie. But instead, it now seems that a television revival may be on the cards. Bell had teased this last year, but as per a new report at IndieWire, she’s now added it by saying “we are willing to put the effort in”. This is in regards to a new mini-series, although she was cautious of timescales. “I mean, if I have to do it as Murder She Wrote at 80, we’re going to do it”, firmly adding that “it’s going to happen”.
When? Good question. But with creator Rob Thomas on board too, it’s just a matter of time before Veronica Mars returns…
