Actor Bertie Carvel will be the voice of the new Walking with Dinosaurs series.
It’s been 25 years since they first stomped across our television screens, but Walking with Dinosaurs is back.
The impactful BBC show, which has already teased us with images of the new dinosaurs, is getting a modern six-part update. It promises to use cutting-edge science to reveal how the prehistoric creatures lived, hunted, fought and died more accurately than ever before.
The new run focusses on an individual dinosaur in each of its six episodes. These include a Spinosaurus – the largest carnivorous dinosaur to ever walk the earth – roaming the rivers of ancient Morocco; a youthful Triceratops battling a ravenous T. rex in North America; and a lonely giant Lusotitan risking it all for a love in Portugal.
Actor Bertie Carvel (Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell) is narrating the new series.
Bertie Carvel said:
“I am beyond thrilled to be a part of this exciting new reimagining of Walking With Dinosaurs. The BBC is a world-leader in creating groundbreaking and innovative science programming which I’ve admired all my life, so I’m incredibly excited to be a part of the team bringing the stories of these prehistoric creatures to life”.
A new 60-second trailer takes us from the mountainous forests in Alberta to the red rock canyons of Utah…
Walking With Dinosaurs is a BBC Studios production for the BBC and PBS, co-produced with ZDF and France Télévisions.
The new series of Walking with Dinosaurs is “coming soon’ – we’ll keep you posted. Meanwhile, you can find the original 1999 series of Walking With Dinosaurs on BBC iPlayer.
