Based on the real life events, BBC One’s Rillington Place explores the crimes of John Christie and the subsequent tragic miscarriage of justice in 1940s and 50s London.

The tense and impactful thriller is presented over three episodes from three different perspectives, as our characters’ lives tragically converge at 10 Rillington Place.

John Christie is played by Tim Roth, Ethel by Samantha Morton, Timothy Evans by Nico Mirallegro and Beryl Evans by Jodie Comer.

Episode 1

Tuesday 29 November 2016, 9pm

Christie and his estranged wife Ethel are reunited after a nine year separation and move into 10 Rillington Place. As war breaks out, the fractures in their relationship begin to reappear, with deceit, suspicion and violence never far below the veneer of married respectability.

 

Episode 2

Tuesday 6 December 2016, 9pm

When newly-weds Tim and Beryl move into 10 Rillington Place they are befriended by their older neighbours, the Christies.

As time passes and the young couple’s relationship hits a rough patch, Christie’s interest and influence over the couple takes a much more sinister turn.

 

Episode 3

Tuesday 13 December 2016, 9pm

After the strain of Timothy Evans’ trial, Christie finds it increasingly difficult to maintain the charade.

As his marriage breaks down he embarks upon a course of action which finally reveals his true nature to the world.
