Matt Smith has taken the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, challenging former Doctor Who co-star Karen Gillan, Downton Abbey‘s Lily James and actor James Cartwright to take the challenge next.

The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge helps raise awareness and donations for ALS charities. ALS is also referred to as motor neurone disease.

Torchwood star John Barrowman took the challenge earlier this week, having been challenged by his Arrow co-star Stephen Amell.
