The IT Crowd

What are the cast of ‘The IT Crowd’ doing now?

Posted Filed under

A whole decade after Jen first ventured down to the basement of Reynholm Industries, let’s take a look at what the talented cast of The IT Crowd are doing now…

Matt Berry

House of Fools

Matt Berry joined the cast of The IT Crowd in its second season as womanising boss Douglas Reynholm, following roles in offbeat comedies like Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace, Snuff Box and The Mighty Boosh. He now writes and stars in his own Channel 4 comedy show Toast Of London, in which he plays a down-on-his luck, middle-aged actor. Berry was also in Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer’s sitcom House of Fools and has made guest appearances in American comedies Community and Portlandia.

Even people who don’t recognise Berry’s face are likely to be familiar with his distinctive voice, which has featured in adverts for The Natural Confectionary Company, Money Supermarket and more. He is the voice of Absolute Radio and played Bubbles the space dolphin in The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out of Water.

In addition to acting, Berry is a musician and has released several prog-folk-rock albums. He can frequently be seen touring the UK with his band The Maypoles.

Chris Morris

Chris Morris

Chris Morris made his first television appearance since Brass Eye as Deynholm Reynholm in seasons one to two of The IT Crowd, with a cameo in season three. After leaving the show, he wrote and directed Four Lions, a comedy film about a group of incompetent wannabe terrorists.

Over the past few years, Morris has been working as a script editor for Stewart Lee’s Comedy Vehicle and has directed several episodes of Veep, the American counterpart of BBC political comedy The Thick Of It. He also made an appearance in Richard Ayoade’s The Double.

Noel Fielding

Noel Fielding

Noel Fielding was cast as gothic Richmond in The IT Crowd when his own comedy show, The Mighty Boosh, was at the height of its popularity. Since The Mighty Boosh ended, he has become a panel show regular and served as a team captain on Never Mind The Buzzcocks for five years.

He writes and stars in Noel Fielding’s Luxury Comedy on E4, which has so far run for two seasons, and also performs stand-up comedy.

Fielding is also an artist and has exhibited collections of his paintings, in addition to releasing an art book called The Scribblings of a Madcap Shambleton.
