The much-anticipated Addams Family show is set to begin filming this month. 

With the cameras set to roll on Wednesday‘s second season there have been a few casting reveals.

While Netflix are remain tight-lipped, Variety announced the involvement of Steve Buscemi a few days ago, suggesting he’ll play Nevermore Academy’s new Principal. Now, they’ve dropped an exclusive saying that Thandiwe Newton (Westworld) is set to appear too.

Wednesday Season 2

Wednesday goes back into action after what seems an age, having premiered back in late 2022. Some of that delay can be put down to Hollywood strikes, although the series recommission itself took a little time. While it was clear they had a monster hit, Netflix only confirmed the show’s second run in January 2023.

Details are scant on what Season 2 will bring, although its star Jenna Ortega, who’s taken an executive producer role on the show, has indicated it may pursue a more horror-tinged slant.

There’s also talk of an Uncle Fester spinoff, suggesting that Netflix want “a pipeline of Addams Family programs”.
