The Witcher: final trailer released

Netflix’s horror-fantasy series arrives next week…

The Witcher may have originated as a series of novels and short stories penned by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski, in which “witchers” were monster hunters in a world filled with beasts, but Sapkowski’s ideas have been adapted into numerous other guises over the years, including a much-loved trilogy of The Witcher video games.

Next week, The Witcher will be unleashed as new TV series on Netflix. Star Henry Cavill, who was an avid fan of the games when he wasn’t playing Superman in the DCEU or fighting Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible – Fallout, lobbied for the lead role of Geralt before being cast in the show.

Here’s a final trailer for the pricey fantasy adaptation…

Netflix has already confirmed that season 2 is happening. The second season will again be eight episodes long, and production will get underway in London early next year. Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, who previously worked on Daredevil and The Umbrella Academy for Netflix, will return as showrunner.

The first season of The Witcher will debut as an early Christmas gift on 20th December.
