‘The Unquiet Dead’ (2005)
For Rose Tyler’s first trip into Earth’s past, the Ninth Doctor decided to take her to Naples in 1860. He was a bit off, but Cardiff at Christmas in 1869 still held plenty of thrills as the spirits of the deceased were inhabiting dead bodies and walking the streets.
With Charles Dickens, a fervent sceptic in tow, the time-travellers have to stop the Earth becoming home to the walking dead.
