The Game of Thrones actor is currently dating Doctor Who star Jenna Coleman, who plays Clara.
Madden told Zap2It: “I mean, I love Doctor Who. I’ve always loved Doctor Who.”
On the subject of appearing in Series 8, he commented: “…we’ll just see what happens in the future.”
Filming on Series 8 began last week and will take place in Cardiff until August.
