Will Shedites be the surprise Christmas hit for the 2025 Holiday Season on the BBC?
The BBC recently revealed its huge lineup for the holiday season. Among all the obvious shows and films many of us are sure to watch, we noticed a single 30′ show. Shedites. It has a simple one-line description:
…set in and around the men’s shed in a village in Ireland
What do we know about Shedites — story, cast…
There’s a whole press release to dive into. First up:
Shedites is about a place where men can make themselves useful building and repairing things, and along the way find company through unlikely friendships, a sense of purpose, and a mug of strong tea.
All very prosaic, perhaps, but now factor in the cast. The half hour comedy sees Jimmy (Brendan O’Carroll), Harry (Phil Davis), Gavin (Simon Delaney), Cheesy (Danny O’Carroll), Paul (Shane Casey) and Paddy the Liar (Paddy Houlihan) set out to build a new bike from recycled parts to try and win the local “Santa Spin” race. If they succeed, it’ll be a rare triumph for the lads. And if they don’t, Councillor Orla (Deirde O’Kane) will make sure they hear about it.
If that all doesn’t sound like a multi-series comedy, we’re not sure what does. Yes, that’s three of the ever-popular Mrs Brown’s Boys, and the idea comes from Paddy Houlihan himself.
Could it be another Father Ted or Killinaskully? There’s only one way to find out!
