The “Dance of the Dragons” continues…
It seems like forever since we were last in Westeros for the brutal events of the House of the Dragon. Actually, it was only in the summer of 2022.
The series is based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood and set 200 years before Game of Thrones. It chronicles an internecine conflict inside the ruling House Targaryen.
Now, HBO (and Sky in the UK) have revealed a first look at the upcoming 8-part House of the Dragon Season 2.
As the battle lines were left, Queen Alicent (Olivia Cooke) has installed her eldest son Aegon on the throne, while Princess Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) and her husband Prince Daemon (Matt Smith) insist on pressing her claim…
Joining Cooke, D’Arcy and Smith, the show’s returning include Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans.
Plus, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, and Matthew Needham.
Joining the show for this series are Clinton Liberty as Addam of Hull, Jamie Kenna as Ser Alfred Broome, Kieran Bew as Hugh, Tom Bennett as Ulf, Tom Taylor as Lord Cregan Stark, and Vincent Regan as Ser Rickard Thorne. Also, Abubakar Salim as Alyn of Hull, Gayle Rankin as Alys Rivers, Freddie Fox as Ser Gwayne Hightower, and Simon Russell Beale as Ser Simon Strong.
To promote the show, there are two striking new posters too, titled “Blood for Blood” and “Fire to Fire.”
House of the Dragon Season 2 lands in Summer 2024 – airing on Sky Atlantic and streaming on NOW.
