It’s nearly time to return to the Arconia for another investigation.
Updated 26/07/23: As expected, the trailer for the third season of Only Murders in the Building has landed.
With the launch less than a fortnight away, we’ve finally been granted a good look at season 3.
This time around, everyone’s favourite true crime podcast show boasts a couple of rather high profile guest stars… Paul Rudd and Meryl Streep. The pair are front and centre in the new promo…
“Well, you know, who are we without a homicide?”
The trailer jumps us straight back in to the coda for season 2, with the death of Paul Rudd’s Ben on stage during the premiere of Oliver’s new show. While we might be only seeing him in retrospect, it looks like Meryl Streep’s character is going to be a lot of fun. Plus, is that (another) romance for Mabel… and one that ends culminates with a wedding?
With the promise of original music from Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman too, that all-musical episode is looking all the more likely.
All will begin to be revealed as the show returns to Hulu and Disney+ with a double-premiere on 8th August, 2023.
Original article (of 21/03/23) follows…
Only Murders in the Building – Season 3 poster
With Season 3 of Only Murders in the Building imminent, Disney+ have released a bunch of posters highlighting the show’s main characters.
Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short return as the intrepid podcasters who have an uncanny knack of becoming far too involved in their investigations.
Season three finds Charles, Oliver & Mabel investigating a murder behind the scenes of a Broadway show. Ben Glenroy (Paul Rudd) is a Hollywood action star whose Broadway debut is cut short by his untimely death. Aided by co-star Loretta Durkin (Meryl Streep), our trio embarks on their toughest case yet, all while director Oliver desperately attempts to put his show back together. Curtains up!
The season also features Ashley Park and Jesse Williams, as well as Tina Fey, Vanessa Aspillaga, Adina Verson, Michael Cyril Creighton and Ryan Broussard.
Famed musical producers Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman (Sister Act, Hairspray) have confirmed their involvement in this season too. This suggests we might enjoy a musical episode – the show has form with season 1 having a (brilliant) dialogue-free instalment.
Character posters
Along with the series regulars, the ill-fated Paul Rudd and Meryl Streep, each have their own poster.
Further images are available on the show’s social media feeds.
Only Murders in the Building comes from co-creators and writers Steve Martin and John Hoffman. Martin and Hoffman executive produce along with Martin Short, Selena Gomez, Dan Fogelman and Jess Rosenthal. The series is produced by 20th Television, a part of Disney Television Studios.
Only Murders in the Building Season 3 lands on Hulu and Disney+ with a double-premiere on 8th August, 2023. We imagine a full trailer will be arriving any day now – we’ll keep you posted.
