With filming now underway, itv unveil the cast list (and not much else) about the new series of Red Eye.

While Jing Lusi returns as DS Hana Li, Martin Compston joins her for the thriller’s second run. This makes sense as the story of Richard Armitage’s Dr Matthew Nolan felt complete.

Story details remain under wraps, save for the fact that Lusi and Compston’s characters have to “…set aside past differences to solve a new high-stakes conspiracy.”

They’re joined by a returning cast which includes Lesley Sharp as Head of MI5 Madeline Delaney and Jemma Moore as journalist Jess Li. Also returning are Jonathan Aris (His Dark Materials), Robert Gilbert (Bergerac), Cash Holland and Steph Lacey.

New cast members for series 2 include Isaura Barbe-Brown (Guilt), Nicholas Rowe (The Crown), Danusia Samal (The Great), Trevor White (Industry) and Guy Williams (London Has Fallen).

The six-part Red Eye series 2 comes from writer Peter A. Dowling, with Jingan Young returning to write an episode. The directors are Kieron Hawkes and Camilla Strøm Henriksen, while Chris May produces. Red Eye is produced by Bad Wolf. We’ll keep you posted.
