DC Hana Li and Head of MI5 Madeline Delaney will return for another flight full of twists and turns.

Line of Duty‘s Martin Compston has been announced to star in the series 2 of itv’s in-air thriller Red Eye.

The show’s first run saw Richard Armitage as Dr Matthew Nolan who was being returned to China from the UK for questioning. With Nolan’s story effectively done, it’s no surprise that the story is shifting to focus on another case.

However, his chaperone, Jing Lusi’s DC Hana Li, does continue into series 2. She returns alongside Lesley Sharp as Head of MI5 Madeline Delaney, and Jemima Moore as Hana’s journalist sister Jess, and.

Details are scant, but we’re told that Li and Delaney have “… a new conspiracy to solve in the highly pressurised world of Red Eye.” Plus, we spot that Hana Li now holds the rank of Detective Sergeant too.
