Apple TV+ have released the trailer for their upcoming subterranean thriller Silo.
The series, based on Hugh Howey’s books, present a dystopian future where the remnants of humanity live underground as the surface is no longer habitable.
However, no one knows when or why the silo was built and any who try to find out face fatal consequences. The story follows Juliette, an engineer, who seeks answers about a loved one’s murder and tumbles onto a mystery that goes far deeper than she could have ever imagined, leading her to discover that if the lies don’t kill you, the truth will.
Silo has garnered quite the stellar cast; led by Rebecca Ferguson and David Oyolowo, it includes Rashida Jones, Tim Robbins, Avi Nash and Chinaza Uche. Plus rapper Common and Dame Harriet Walter.
“What if everything you know to be true… was one big lie?”
Presenting a crowded, grimy subterranean world of odd rituals, Silo promises an emotional ride with dark mysteries to uncover. Ignorant of the reasons for its creation, the silo’s inhabitants lead a life of drudgery within its 144 floors.
Produced by AMC, the show’s writer is Graham Yost and the director is Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game).
Silo comes to Apple TV+ on May 5th, 2023 dropping two episodes. Subsequent instalments land weekly on Fridays.
