Netflix has revealed a start date and teaser trailer for supernatural Homes and Watson series The Irregulars
We last reported on The Irregulars back in August, when it resumed its interrupted filming. Now we’re pleased to reveal the March start date for this. The trailer comes with the usual small synopsis:
Welcome to 19th-century London, where The Irregulars – a group of misfits, work to solve supernatural crimes at the behest of Dr. Watson and his elusive partner, Sherlock Holmes.
We understand the series is rated 15 so that may influence the story telling and age of this group of ad hoc crime solvers. Writer Tom Bidwell (who worked on Watership Down for Netflix) is quoted as saying:
Sherlock Holmes had a group of street kids he’d use to help him gather clues so our series is what if Sherlock was a drug addict and a delinquent and the kids solve the whole case whilst he takes credit?
The cast includes:
Henry Lloyd-Hughes as Sherlock Holmes
Royce Pierreson as Dr Watson
Clarke Peters as Linen Man
Thaddea Graham as Bea
Darci Shaw as Jessie
Jojo Macari as Billy
McKell David as Spike
Harrison Osterfield as Leopold
Sheila Atim
Aidan McArdle as Lestrade.
The trailer focusses very much on the supernatural (including Tarot cards) and a set of shots of the cast. We expect a full trailer before the March 26 release date.
