A Classic Horror Story gets an official trailer ahead of July release

Italian film A Classic Horror Story has an official trailer — expect tropes and more

Netflix is in typical tease mode with it’s short summary of the plot:

A camper. A car crash. An abandoned house. Children’s music in the background. Think you’ve seen it before? Look again.

Yes, it’s all those things, along with a growing sense of panic, unease and fear. The story centres on a group on a road-trip who come off the road in a crash with a tree. When they regain their bearings after the shock, there’s no road..

As films like Woman in Black prove, even when you expect the plot to develop in a certain way, it makes it no less able to scare. The cast consists of Francesco Russo, Peppino Mazzotta, Yulia Sobol, Will Merrick, Alida Baldari Calabria Cristina Donadio (“Gomorrah”) and Matilda Lutz, who starred in F. Javier Gutierrez’s “Rings,” the third instalment of the U.S. “Ring” franchise. The film is co-directed by Roberto De Feo and Paolo Strippoli. It was written by Roberto De Feo, Paolo Strippoli, Lucio Besana, David Bellini and Milo Tissone.

A Classic Horror Story is out on Netflix on July 14 — watch the trailer now. Just don’t watch it alone late at night…
