Netflix reveal cast details for Bigelow’s A House of Dynamite, teasing a compelling premise.

We’re promised a “sharp and visceral” story from writer Noah Oppenheim (Zero Day, Jackie). However, the streamer is keeping the storyline tightly to itself and the synopsis gives away little…

When a single, unattributed missile is launched at the United States, a race begins to determine who is responsible and how to respond.

A House of Dynamite

A House of Dynamite drops in October, headlined by Idris Elba (Hijack). He’s joined by Rebecca Ferguson (Dune) and Gabriel Basso (The Night Agent).

Also in the cast are Jared Harris (Chernobyl), (Ironheart), Jonah Hauer-King (Doctor Who) and Moses Ingram (Obi Wan Kenobi).

Plus, Anthony Ramos, Tracy Letts, Greta Lee, Jason Clarke, Brian Tee, Brittany O’Grady, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Willa Fitzgerald, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Kyle Allen and Kaitlyn Dever. Also, Malachi Beasley, in his debut feature.

We’ve yet to learn who plays what role, but it’s believed the story focusses on a group of White House officials scrambling to deal with the crisis. We can only speculate, but could we be about to meet President Idris? The movie is Kathryn Bigelow’s first in eight years, since 2017’s Detroit.

A House of Dynamite lands at Netflix on 24th October 2025, and will also have a limited run in cinemas. We’ll keep you posted.
