On Earth, everyone can hear you scream!
Updated 21/11/24: Another look at the Xenomorph.
While it’s slated for 2025, September brought us a first brief teaser for the long awaited Alien: Earth television series. That one came from makers FX and aired before some screenings of the Alien: Romulus movie.
Now Disney+, the show’s streaming home, has dropped something very similar – albeit with a few fascinating differences.
First up, this specifically dates the show to the year 2120, two years before the events of the original Alien film.
Secondly, some of the flashed sequences offer details which seem to include an alien egg opening, a face hugger, screaming people and possibly a sheep’s eye. For more, check out the thoughts of Ryan Lambie at Film Stories, including some judicious screenshots.
The show also has some shiny new art and a slightly expanded synopsis:
When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat in the sci-fi horror series “Alien: Earth.” As members of the crash recovery crew search for survivors among the wreckage, they encounter mysterious predatory life forms more terrifying than they could have ever imagined. With this new threat unlocked, the search crew must fight for survival and what they choose to do with this discovery could change planet Earth as they know it.
Alien: Earth is not expected to land until the summer of 2025.
