Andor – Season 2 trailer ahead of April launch
With Star Wars movies seemingly in perpetual development hell, save for the announced The Mandalorian and Grogu (aimed at 2026), plenty is expected of the returning Andor tv series.
It’s been a long time coming too. Season 1 concluded in November 2022, and the new run begins on April 22nd, 2025.

The show focuses on the rebel pilot Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) and a specific period in the timeline. It takes place in the five years before the original Star Wars: A New Hope movie.
Like season 1, the story also plays out over four three-part stories. However, we’re told that each will jump us in time, taking us closer to the fateful events of Rogue One.
The returning cast
Season 2 features Senator Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly), Bix Caleen (Adria Arjona), Luthen Rael (Stellan Skarsgård), and Syril Karn (Kyle Soller). Plus, we’ll see more of Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker) and Director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn).

For us, one much-anticipated element is the introduction of Cassian’s co-pilot, the droid K2S0 – as voiced by Alan Tudyk.
Here’s the official synopsis for Andor season 2:
While Season 1 followed Cassian’s reluctant journey from cynical nobody to revolutionary volunteer, the long-awaited conclusion in Andor Season 2 will see the characters and their relationships intensify as the horizon of war draws near and Cassian becomes a key player in the Rebel Alliance. Everyone will be tested and, as the stakes rise, the betrayals, sacrifices and conflicting agendas will become profound.
Rife with political intrigue, danger, tension, and high stakes, the thrill is a prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which portrayed a heroic band of rebels who steal the plans to the Empire’s weapon of mass destruction — the Death Star — setting the stage for the events of the original 1977 film, Star Wars: A New Hope. Andor sets the clock back five years from the events of Rogue One to tell the story of the film’s hero, Cassian Andor, and his transformation into a rebel hero on his way to an epic destiny.
Star Wars: Andor Season 2 begins at Disney+ on April 22nd, 2025 with episodes dropping weekly. Which gives plenty of time for another season 1 rewatch!
